Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 April 2026

PeakCalcs ("we", "us", "our") operates the website peakcalcs.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our site. PeakCalcs is committed to respecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data Controller

The data controller for peakcalcs.com is Dan Dadovic, based in Northumberland, United Kingdom. For any data-related queries or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@peakcalcs.com.

What Data We Collect

Calculator Inputs

All calculator computations run entirely in your browser. PeakCalcs does not transmit, store, or log any health data you enter into our calculators. Your weight, height, body measurements, and other inputs never leave your device.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use peakcalcs.com. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, approximate geographic region, and referral source. GA4 uses first-party cookies set on the peakcalcs.com domain.

GA4 only activates after you provide explicit consent by clicking "Accept" on our cookie consent banner. If you click "Reject" or do not interact with the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking occurs. Closing the banner without making a choice does not constitute consent.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer, which re-opens the consent banner.

Form Submissions (Resend)

If you use the feedback form on our About page, we collect the information you voluntarily provide: your name, email address, and message content. This data is transmitted via Resend (resend.com), a transactional email service, to deliver your message to us. We use this data solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add your email to any mailing list.

Resend processes data in accordance with their privacy policy. We retain form submission data only as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry.

Bot Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

Our feedback form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated spam submissions. Turnstile runs a non-interactive challenge in your browser and may set a cookie on the cloudflare.com domain. It does not use CAPTCHAs or collect personal data beyond what is necessary for bot detection. Turnstile operates under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Rate Limiting (Upstash)

To prevent abuse of our feedback form, we use Upstash for server-side rate limiting. Upstash processes your IP address temporarily to enforce rate limits. No personal data is stored beyond the rate-limiting window.

Cookies

PeakCalcs uses the following cookies:

Essential Cookies

cookie-consent — stores your cookie consent preference (accepted/rejected). This cookie is always set as it is necessary for the site to respect your cookie choices. It does not contain personal data.

peakcalcs-unit-system — stored in localStorage (not a cookie), this saves your preferred unit system (metric or imperial) so it persists across page loads. No personal data is involved.

Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)

_ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics 4 cookies used to distinguish users and sessions. These are only set if you click "Accept" on the consent banner. They expire after 2 years (_ga) or the session end (_ga_*).

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate personal data
  • Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing of your personal data
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics cookies, use the Cookie Settings link)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@peakcalcs.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Transfers

Google Analytics 4 may transfer data to servers outside the UK/EEA. Google has implemented Standard Contractual Clauses and additional safeguards for these transfers. Resend and Cloudflare process data in accordance with their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Children

PeakCalcs is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of peakcalcs.com after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
